Starting something new for this year... finishing stuff! For 2013, my sister participated in "A Lovely Year of Finishes". You set one goal a month, then report when you finish that goal (in the same month.) I am hopefully not going to be one of those that starts out in January and then fades, which is my usual way of doing things. We'll see....
For January, my goal is to finish my Boston Commons quilt, which I pieced and quilted in 2014. Here's the front:
I had a lot of fun quilting it. The top is so busy, it would have been fine to have an all-over design, but since this quilt is for MY BED I wanted something special.
hope you can see the details, as usual I have difficulty getting photos that show the quilting. That's something else I'm going to work on for 2014!
All that's left to do is finish the edges. I wanted to keep the zig-zag edge, so I faced it, rather than using binding. All that's left to do is sew the binding down on the back, then put it on my bed!
Hope you had a great holiday season. All good here, lots of great presents and too much food. Fun time with family. Looking forward to getting back to the regular routine and maybe some exercise and healthy eating.
Today was a fabulous rare, sunny winter day in Seattle. We took the grandkids and our daughter Libby to lunch at the Space Needle.
Happy Quilting, Happy New Year!
